About Panaderia San Miguel Mexican Bakery

Located at 510 N Cunningham Ave #11, Urbana, IL 61802, Panaderia San Miguel Mexican Bakery operates as a bakery serving Urbana in Illinois. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

In Urbana, the best-known bakeries and bagel shops have lines on weekend mornings, so arrive early or order ahead where the shop offers it. Across Illinois, immigrant bakeries add Mexican pan dulce, Vietnamese banh mi bread, Chinese buns, Middle Eastern sweets and European rye to the mix, and many gluten-free and vegan bakeries have opened in larger cities. Check the listing for hours, whether the shop accepts custom cake orders and its Google rating before you go, and call about allergens, since small kitchens often share equipment. Day-old bread and end-of-day discounts are common if you ask.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 8:30 am–8:30 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. No phone number is listed for this business, so the Google Maps link on this page is the best route for directions and any contact details Google has on file. Its website is m.facebook.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.4 out of 5 from 77 reviews, which is a strong result for a bakery in Urbana and suggests consistent service.

Urbana is in Illinois, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Urbana follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I just got back from QOO Mexico and let me tell you all that this bakery is legit. Super cute interior. Can definately study. Peaceful quiet plaza but high quality products. Also I just love the self serve trays. Portions are very generous. Affordable date spot.

Unfortunately it wasn’t that good when I came here. I got four items and the only good thing was the Tres Leches. The rest of the pastries were extremely stale and I had to throw them away. I feel bad for this place kind of I don’t know why.

I moved to the area last year from Chicago, where I had plenty of great panaderΓa options, so I was really excited to find this place. The shop itself is clean, and the bread looked absolutely beautiful and very appealing. Unfortunately, it didn’t taste the way it looked. All of the bread we purchased was extremely stale β€” and not just β€œend of the day” stale. Bread doesn’t get that hard and dry in a matter of hours. It honestly tasted days old. We bought five different varieties, and every single one was the same. I was genuinely disappointed because I really wanted it to be good. In the end, we threw it all out β€” almost $15 wasted. I truly hope this was just an off few days for them, because as a small business owner myself, I never want to see another business fail. However, based on this experience, I can’t recommend it. I would also encourage them to ensure freshness across all products, especially refrigerated desserts like tres leches cakes, as freshness is so important for both quality and safety. I’m hoping things improve, but unfortunately, I won’t be returning at this time.

Absolutely enjoyed this hole in the wall bakery. I don't think anybody else makes pastries as big as they do and surprisingly most are under $2. Some of the selection changes daily so the nice lady working here is willing to help you out. Don't miss out on this hidden gem.

10/10! Vsited many times now, and each time, I am blown away more by the authenticity of their pastries. The bakery has over 100 different kinds of Mexican pastries all handmade by a baker with more than 20 years of experience making Mexican sweet breads. The rotating bread selection was fresh and delicious. The expertise of the baker was evident in every bite. The service was very kind and welcoming. Highly recommend to anyone looking for authentic Mexican pastries in Urbana. As a bonus, they do accept NFT payment methods, including Samsung pay, Google Pay, and Apple Pay, in addition to the traditional cash and cards.
